Auer Steel & Heating Supply Co. in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a CAD Operator to draft HVAC plans and related diagrams under supervision. The role supports the Design Engineer and Sales team, with responsibilities including plan preparation and submittal paperwork.

The ideal candidate has an Associate's degree in CAD or HVAC or 1–2 years AutoCAD/2D modeling experience and is organized, detail-oriented, and ready to travel to project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Draft HVAC plans, piping diagrams, control diagrams and refrigeration diagrams under supervision.
• Back up Design Engineers to answer customer questions.
• Prepare plans, loads and paperwork for submittal to local and State agencies.
• Prepare inspection packets for submitted design projects.
• Promotes and maintains a cooperative, positive, team-oriented attitude with and between departments and end users.
• Travel to architects, contractors or government agencies to pick up or drop off plans.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

We are currently hiring a CAD Operator to work in our Milwaukee, WI location. This position is best suited for an organized, responsible, and detail-oriented individual who is looking for a career with-in a well-established company.

WHAT DOES THIS POSITION DO?

• Draft HVAC plans, piping diagrams, control diagrams and refrigeration diagrams under the direct supervision of the Design Engineer or Salesperson.
• Backup Design Engineers in their absence to answer customer questions.
• Prepare plans, loads and appropriate paperwork for submittal to local and State agencies.
• Prepare inspection packets for all submitted design projects.
• Promotes and maintains a flexible cooperative, positive, team-oriented attitude with and between departments and end users.
• Travel to architects, contractors or government agencies to pick up or drop off plans.
• Other duties as assigned.

WHAT IS REQUIRED?

• Associate's degree in CAD or HVAC or 1 2 years equivalent experience in Auto CAD or other 2D modeling systems.
