Connexion Systems & Engineering Inc. seeks an experienced CADAM CAD Engineer to convert legacy CADAM drawings into interoperable formats (IGES, CATIA V5, DWG/DXF) while preserving dimensions and engineering information for downstream inspection.

The role focuses on validating converted geometry, extracting component and BOM details, and providing data conversion support for a project running remotely in TX. 40 hours/week for a temporary 8.4-week engagement.

Job Description Role Overview

Seeking an experienced CADAM CAD Engineer to convert legacy 2D CADAM drawings into interoperable formats (IGES, CATIA V5, DWG/DXF) while ensuring the preservation of dimensions, geometric features, and engineering information for downstream component identification and visual inspection.

Key Responsibilities & Skills

• Hands-on experience with CADAM 2D Drafting (CCD/CDD) and interpretation of legacy engineering drawings.
• Experience converting native CADAM drawings into 2D IGES, CATIA V5 (CATDrawing), and DWG/DXF formats using appropriate CAD conversion tools.
• Strong understanding of 2D wireframe geometry, geometric entities, dimensions, annotations, drawing structures, and attributes.
• Ability to interpret, validate, and troubleshoot CAD conversions, identifying missing geometry, attributes, or structural relationships.
• Experience extracting and correlating component and assembly specifications from CAD drawings and associated Bill of Materials (BOM) documentation.
• Ability to validate converted geometry and engineering information against original CADAM drawings to support downstream visual annotation and inspection.

Deliverables & Project Support

• Deliver process flows and participate in data conversion and data maintenance tasks.
• Mentor and provide knowledge transfer to client project team members.
• Serve as a primary, co-, and/or contributing author on project deliverables within assigned areas of responsibility.
• Provide best practices, industry-specific solutions, and alternative (out-of-the-box) solutions.
• Deliver thought leadership as well as hands-on technical configuration/development as needed.
• Perform other functional team duties as assigned.
