Job summary

Heartland Food Products Group, a global leader in the consumer packaged goods industry, is seeking an Associate Engineer for its Indianapolis, IN manufacturing plant.

The role covers full project life cycle from design to fabrication and installation, working closely with RAM Team Engineers.  You will draw and design using CAD, lead fabrication efforts, set up and inspect machines, and troubleshoot equipment in a hands-on, high-precision environment.

Qualifications

• Familiar with CAD drawing and design programs.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and engineering mindset.
• Ability to read and decipher schematics, blueprints, mechanical drawings and P&ID drawings.
• Able to use mechanical and digital measuring instruments with precision.
• Must communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Draw and design using CAD.
• Assist RAM Engineer and Project Managers with leading projects.
• Operate manual and CNC machines (mill, plasma cutter, laser engraver, lathe).
• Set up machines and inspect components with tight tolerances.
• Lead fabrication projects to support equipment repairs and new projects.
• Assist installation of industrial equipment; rigging experience is a plus.
