Job summary

Champion Home Builders, Inc. in Lake City, FL is seeking a Drafter to create model drawings and construction layouts for residential projects using AutoCAD.

You will translate sketches and specifications into detailed drawings, ensuring compliance with US building codes and preparing documents for permitting and fabrication. You will collaborate with Production and Quality Control to resolve design issues and support the commissioning of home installations.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 2–5 years' experience with AutoCAD.
• AutoCAD 2015 or higher experience required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Familiar with US commercial & residential building codes.

Responsibilities

• Create designs from rough sketches, drawings, and specifications.
• Draft detailed construction drawings for walls, roofs, floors, plumbing, electrical, cabinets, and more.
• Use CAD to create and revise detailed drawings.
• Ensure drawings include dimensions and material specifications.
• Submit drawings to third-party agencies for approval as needed.
• Collaborate with Production and Quality Control to resolve design issues.
