Job Summary

Under the direction of the Lead Drafter, prepare clear, complete, and accurate sketches, layouts, and drawings of assemblies, sub-assemblies, and all engineering papers and notices in accordance with standard drafting procedures. Support Engineering and other departments as required.

Essential Duties

1. Maintain reasonable and predictable attendance.
2. Prepare drawings, final revisions, part lists, diagrams, maps, charts, schematics, layouts, assemblies, Engineering Change Requests, Notices, and New Drawing Releases.
3. Apply tolerance, computing, estimating, and mechanical and electrical principles as required.
4. Maintain and operate appropriate equipment, including CAD software.
5. Create engineering drafts and drawings following standard procedures, ensuring proper line work, dimensions, tolerances, and layouts.
6. Draft multi-view assembly and sub-assembly drawings for manufacturing and repair.
7. Review drawings for space and arrangement accuracy.
8. Interpret and produce sketches, drawings, layouts, and schematics; prepare diagrams, graphs, maps, charts, and isometrics.
9. Create final sketches, verify dimensions, materials, and part relationships; check and correct errors; note revisions and update drawings accordingly.
10. Incorporate approved Engineering Change Notices into affected drawings and perform all drafting for New Drawing Releases.
11. Perform mathematical computations such as tolerance checks and weight studies.
12. Understand and communicate assembly and installation sequences.

Education/Training Requirements

High School diploma plus specialized drafting courses or equivalent experience.

Experience

4-5 years in drafting or related field.

Skills and Tools

• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for producing technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
• Understanding of engineering science and technology principles for designing and producing goods and services.
• Proficiency with CAD software, personal computers, and office equipment.
