Job summary

Idaho State University in Pocatello invites applications for a Clinical Instructor in Computer Aided Design Drafting (CAD) COT (7575). The position is on-campus with priority date Oct 11, 2026 and not eligible for remote work.

You will provide quality instruction in classrooms and laboratories, collaborate to maintain curriculum, recruit and advise students, and contribute to accreditation efforts. Minimum qualifications include CAD degree plus required hours or a degree with hours,

Qualifications

• Associate degree in CAD or related field with 12,000 hours of CAD work OR a bachelor’s with 6,000 hours of CAD work experience
• Postsecondary Occupational Specialist Certification or eligibility to obtain it
• Strong written and oral communication; teamwork and presentation skills
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and basic algebra/geometry/trigonometry

Responsibilities

• Deliver quality, experience-based instruction and hands-on laboratory activities designed to prepare students for successful entry into the workforce (70%)
• Collaboratively work with program faculty, the Department Chair, and Technical Advisory Committee members to develop and maintain program curriculum (8%)
• Recruit and advise Computer-Aided Design Drafting students (5%)
• Participate in professional development activities to maintain state certification and engage in lifelong learning (5%)
• Collaboratively work with program and departmental faculty to continuously assess and improve the program to maintain accreditation. This will include participating in meetings to discuss and assess the program, and developing reports to maintain program accreditation. (5%)
• Actively participate in departmental, college, university, and community professional service opportunities (5%)
• Develop and maintain quality relationships with business/industry and other employers (2%)
