Job description

Teach courses including, but not limited to ENTK 2550 -- Civil Drafting Technology (3-credits), and ENTK 2540 -- Civil 3-D Drafting Technology (3-credits). Priority is on excellent teaching, along with assessment, and curriculum development.

Northwest College is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Adjunct Instructor to teach courses for the Drafting Department. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with AutoCAD Civil 2D & 3D software, along with the ability to instruct students in drafting standards, design principles, and real‑world civil engineering applications.

  • Teach courses using AutoCAD Civil 2D and 3D Drafting.
  • Provide students with practical, industry‑relevant instruction in civil design.
  • Develop and update course materials, assignments, and assessments.
  • Support student learning through feedback, mentorship, and applied project work.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry standards and emerging technologies.
  • Provide high quality, engaging online instruction.
  • Teach courses in a special area of interest.
  • Develop course syllabi for assigned courses and effective varied instruction techniques that promote learning.
  • Evaluate student performance and achievement of course, program, and general education learning outcomes.
  • Recommend appropriate texts and teaching aids which will be of the most value to the teaching‑learning process.
  • Contribute to the college-wide assessment of student learning outcomes.
  • Actively participate in assisting the College in maintaining standards required for accreditation.

  • Maintain a high level of content knowledge and engage in ongoing professional development in relation to one's field and teaching.
  • Maintain state‑of‑the‑art knowledge and competence in the appropriate academic disciplines.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 2D & Civil 3D Software.

For positions that require online instruction, instructors must be willing to complete an online “Introduction to Online Teaching at Northwest College” training module prior to employment.
