Job summary

Woolpert in Chicago is seeking a CAD Engineering Technician to join our Site Civil Team. You will design site layouts, develop concept and grading plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D, and collaborate with PMs to overcome obstacles.

Qualifications include an associate degree or technical certification (or 4 years related experience), experience with Autodesk Civil 3D, a valid driver's license, and strong interests in hydrology and stormwater management. Occasional fieldwork and travel are required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or technical certification; or 4 years related experience.
• Experience in Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.
• Interest and working knowledge in hydrology and stormwater management.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize workflow, and complete tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Strong verbal and written communication for internal and external relations.

Responsibilities

• Design and create site layout plans, aligned with client needs and Woolpert standards.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop concept, grading, and site designs.
• Collaborate with project teams to identify impediments and implement solutions.
• Perform site due diligence assessments and compile data/reports.
• Perform roadway pavement evaluations and compile reports.
• Occasional field work with local travel and overnight travel as needed.
