Job summary

University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI) in Warner Robins, GA seeks an experienced CAD/CAM programming trainer to develop and deliver training for CNC programming and machine tool operations. The role supports AFMFTO sustainment activities and requires travel to customer sites, with CAC clearance as needed.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in CNC programming and machining, Mastercam experience, and a background in training or mentoring others.

Qualifications

Experience with CAD/CAM and programming for 2–5 axis CNC machines (Mastercam preferred).
Experience operating 2–5 axis CNC machines, preferably Haas, with at-machine edits.
Interacting with design/manufacturing engineers to advise manufacturability.
Experience training or mentoring others in CAD/CAM and CNC operations.
Ability to read technical drawings and GD&T.
Familiarity with precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; self-starter with minimal supervision.
Valid US passport or ability to obtain one; up to ~15% travel; U.S. citizen due to contracts.

Responsibilities

Develop and provide technical training in CNC programming and machine tool operation.
Support AFMFTO sustainment activities with programming and machining assistance.
Provide design for manufacturability guidance and troubleshooting support.
Travel between customer sites and offices for training and on-site support.
