Job summary

Qualifications

• 0–5 years of relevant CAD/engineering experience.
• AutoCAD training or steel-industry CAD experience preferred.
• Associate degree with CAD or industrial design focus.
• Basic knowledge of custom processing equipment capabilities.
• Ability to read and extract parts from assembly drawings.
• Knowledge of arithmetic.
• Strong computer proficiency and Microsoft applications.
• Ability to exercise discretion with confidential sales information.
• Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Ability to make sound decisions based on knowledge and judgment.
• Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with supervisors, coworkers, and customers/vendors.

Responsibilities

• Transform initial rough product designs using CAD into working documents.
• Prepare lay-outs, drawings and designs according to engineering specifications.
• Perform take-offs on blueprints/drawings.
• Review engineering drawings and supporting documentation and analyze designs.
• Retrieve necessary details to complete drawing, layout or design.
• Work with sales reps or customers for drawing information and verification.
• Assist sales reps and service centers with CAD inquiries and estimating jobs.
• Adhere to safety and quality standards.
• All other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
