Job summary

The Iowa Department of Education seeks an Administrative Consultant for the CACFP to provide leadership, coordination and project management within the Bureau of Nutrition and Health Services. You will interpret federal and state laws, oversee trainings, and guide staff on program and financial compliance for CACFP-participating organizations.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with professional-level work experience.
• Combination of education and experience may substitute per policy.
• Master's degree in social work, law, education, engineering, or public/business administration with relevant experience.
• Current state executive branch experience as an Education Program Consultant is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, coordination and project management of CACFP.
• Interpret, monitor, and enforce federal and state laws, regulations, and policies.
• Oversee trainings, meetings and conferences for CACFP participants and staff.
• Lead and advise monitoring staff on program and financial compliance.
• Oversee documents used in appeals and testify at hearings.
• Collaborate with agencies regulating child care institutions.
• Identify IT system changes for administration, test functionality and ensure data security.
• Support secure collection, transfer and storage of program data.
