Job summary

The State of Iowa - Executive Branch is seeking a seasoned program administrator to lead the CACFP operations, ensure regulatory compliance and coordinate training for centers and sponsors. This role requires strong leadership, meticulous attention to regulatory detail and interagency collaboration to support the Bureau’s mission.

Ideal candidates will navigate federal/state laws, manage multiple projects, and travel within-state as needed to ensure program integrity and effective service

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college with five years of professional program administration experience.
• Nine years total education and work experience can substitute for one year of experience.
• Master’s degree in social work, law, education, engineering, or public/business administration with three years of relevant work.
• Current continuous experience in the state executive branch with two years as an Education Program Consultant.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, coordination and project management of the CACFP.
• Interpret, monitor, and enforce federal and state laws, regulations and policies for compliance.
• Oversee trainings, meetings and conferences for CACFP center, DCH sponsor and staff.
• Lead and advise bureau monitoring staff on program and financial compliance.
• Oversee documents used in appeals, including testifying at hearings.
• Collaborate with agencies regulating child care institutions.
• Identify IT system changes for program administration and perform user testing.
• Ensure secure collection, transfer and storage of program data.

Bachelor’s degree

Master’s degree in social work, law, education, engineering, or public/business administration
