Job summary

Pieper Electric/Systems Technologies is hiring Cabling Technicians for Madison, WI and the Milwaukee Metro area. We welcome all experience levels, from entry level to seasoned cable technicians, to join our team.

Responsibilities include installing, terminating, and testing cabling and fiber, reading blueprints, and ensuring safety and quality on site. Must have valid driver's license and be willing to travel.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent education required.
• 1-5 years in the communications industry; supervising a crew preferred.
• Self-starter with willingness to tackle difficult cabling jobs.
• Basic computer skills and ability to write well.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to read blueprints and English literacy.
• Valid driver's license and insurance proof.
• BICSI certification preferred.
• Willingness to work weekends/evenings/holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Enforce a safe jobsite and maintain safety standards.
• Supervise technicians to ensure high-quality installs.
• Analyze blueprints for job site knowledge.
• Run new cabling and conduit in buildings.
• Terminate and test fiber optic cabling and data cabling.
• Terminate voice and data jacks and patch panels.
• Build racks and mount equipment.
• Install pathways and cabling and travel to locations.
• Complete required paperwork accurately.
• Read floor plans and comply with specifications.
