Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an entry-level Cable Technician for onsite work at Offutt Air Force Base, NE. The role involves installing and terminating copper and fiber cabling, running and dressing cables, labeling, and building out network equipment in a secured base environment.

Responsibilities include installing CAT5/6, fiber, patch panels, and testing equipment; strong emphasis on adherence to floor plans, safety, and quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ years of cabling experience
• Read and interpret floor plans, drawings, specifications, and cut sheets
• Properly sets up a variety of copper and fiber testers
• Performs system testing and troubleshooting as required
• Terminates, labels, tests, and troubleshoots optical fiber and copper installations
• Assist in developing Installers to complete tasks and responsibilities of a Technician
• Oversee job site organization and housekeeping
• Maintain professional appearance and compliance with customer security requirements
• Excel in testing and troubleshooting technical tasks

Description

This person will be doing support work, hanging wire, cable trays, and installing those pathways, and all of the work will be on a Air Force base. Main job duties will include roughing in fiber, final dressing, labeling, etc. Running, dressing, testing & terminating CAT 5,6, fiber, and building out network equipment, and rack and stack. Main daily job duties will include: Cable installing, cable dressing, labeling, and material management for cable installing (copper and fiber)

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.
