Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Cable Technician I to join a team installing, routing, terminating, and supporting low-voltage cabling in commercial environments. You will learn industry standards while contributing to safe, organized, and efficient installations.

The role is based on active construction sites in Chantilly, VA with a Monday–Friday schedule, some overtime, and a requirement to maintain clean, safe work areas and complete required paperwork on time.

Qualifications

• Experience in structured cabling or electrical industry.
• Ability to install, route, and support cabling in commercial environments.
• Ability to read and follow construction drawings and prints.
• Capability to build telecommunications closets and install racks/patch panels.

Responsibilities

• Install work area outlets and locate wall and floor mounting.
• Drop cable down walls with safe routing.
• Route cable through furniture and building pathways per plans.
• Perform pre-termination tasks: organize, dress, label, measure cable length.
• Suspend and support cables with trays, J-hooks, D-rings, and supports.
• Build telecommunications closets with backboards, racks, and patch panels.
• Terminate copper and fiber optic cabling per specs.
• Follow project drawings to complete installations accurately.
• Complete timesheets, transfers, work orders and other docs.
• Ensure safety and quality on site and coordinate with team.
