Job summary

Quadrant, Inc. in Cullman, AL is seeking a Cable Technician Assistant to support installers and learn CAT5e/6 and fiber optics while delivering excellent customer service.

The role includes assisting with installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of cabling infrastructure, and performing site surveys to determine routes and methods.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Cable Technician Assistant.
• Must have work experience.
• Willing to learn CAT5e/6 and fiber optics.
• Able to lift 40+ lbs and work in small spaces.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service always.
• Assist technician with installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of cabling infrastructure.
• Pull, route, and terminate various cables including coaxial, Ethernet, and fiber optic.
• Perform site surveys to determine installation route and method.
• Terminate RJ45 via CAT5E/6 per industry standards.
• Ensure cables are neatly routed, dressed, and bundled.
• Install cabling support components (j-hooks, cable racks, innerduct).
• Install IT equipment such as routers, switches, cameras, wireless, etc.
• Conduct tests to ensure all newly installed cable systems and component devices are operational.
• Troubleshoot device and/or cabling issues.
• Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards during installations.

Pay From: $18 per hour

MUST

• Experienced Cable Technicians Assistant
• Must have work experience
• Willing to learn CAT5e/6 and fiber optic cables and install
• Ability to work in small spaces.
• Ability to lift 40+ Lbs.
• Must have hard hat and vest

DUTIES

• Provide excellent customer service always.
• Assist technician with installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various cabling infrastructure.
• Pull, route, and terminate various types of cables, including coaxial, Ethernet, and fiber optic.
• Perform site surveys to determine the best installation route and method.
• Terminate RJ45 via CAT5E/6 in accordance with industry standards.
• Ensuring all cables are neatly routed, dressed, and bundled.
• Installation of cabling support components such as j-hooks, cable racks, and innerduct.
• Installation IT equipment such as routers, switches, cameras, wireless, etc...
• Conduct tests to ensure all newly installed cable systems and component devices are operational
• Troubleshoot device and or cabling issues
• Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards during all installations.
