Job summary

TEKsystems seeks cable technicians for a long-term data center build project in San Antonio, TX. This entry-level role supports experienced teams in pulling, routing, and terminating structured cabling and related infrastructure, with a focus on safety and learning on the job.

You will handle materials, climb ladders, and work outdoors in a construction environment, earning $21.00–$25.00 per hour on a fully onsite contract-to-hire path. OSHA 10 is preferred or obtainable before start.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of structured cabling experience.
• Experience pulling, routing, and terminating cable.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in a construction environment.
• Comfortable working on ladders and at heights.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Must have basic hand tools and be comfortable using power tools.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred or ability to obtain prior to start.

Long-Term Data Center Project | Entry-Level Opportunity

We're seeking motivated Cable Technicians to support a large-scale data center build project. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with structured cabling experience who are looking to gain hands‑on experience in a fast‑growing industry while working on a long-term project.

What You'll Do

• Pull and route network and communications cabling
• Assist experienced technicians with structured cabling installations
• Handle and transport materials throughout the project site
• Install cable trays, wireways, racks, patch panels, and related infrastructure
• Build telecommunications closets and install supporting hardware
• Terminate and test cabling connections

Job Type & Location

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
