Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a fiber splicing technician to support data center deployments in the Manassas area. You will splice fiber from 12-count to 432-count, perform OTDR testing, certify fiber, and assist installation teams with testing and commissioning.

The role requires troubleshooting fiber connectivity, repairing damaged fiber, terminating connectors, documenting results, and supporting turn‑up efforts at the LinkedIn data center.

Qualifications

• Experience with fiber splicing and testing
• Ability to diagnose signal loss and performance issues
• Proven ability to install and terminate fiber connectors
• Strong documentation skills for splice and test reports

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber splicing on cabling ranging from 12-count to 432-count fiber
• Support installation teams by testing newly installed fiber infrastructure
• Conduct OTDR testing and fiber certification
• Troubleshoot fiber connectivity issues and identify signal loss or performance concerns
• Repair damaged fiber and perform jumper replacements as necessary
• Install and terminate connectors, including work involving vacant-seat connectors
• Review test results and validate fiber performance
