Job summary

Southwire Company, LLC is seeking a Specifications Specialist to ensure accurate order entry support, engineering change management, and RFQ responses. This role requires strong technical knowledge and adept collaboration with R&D, manufacturing, and regulatory teams.

The specialist will develop and maintain product specifications, oversee ECRs and MoC processes, and assist in creating BOMs for quotations to enable competitive RFQ responses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; related technical field preferred.
• 2–4 years of experience in wire and cable industry.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, SAP and Cablebuilder.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains somewhat complex cable designs, BOMs, markings, and other product specification requirements into the specification system upon receipt of a customer order.
• Administers product specification activities throughout customer order entry and engineering change management processes to ensure accurate and efficient execution.
• Reviews and implements Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) through the MoC process and specification systems in support of Sales, Product Management, R&D, Compliance, or Manufacturing inquiries.
• Coordinates somewhat complex specification projects, ensuring stakeholders are informed and aligned with customer needs.
• Collaborates withSales, Product Management, R&D, Compliance and Manufacturing to ensure specifications are feasible and compliant with industry standards.
• Provides assistance to Sales, Product Management and Manufacturing in specification interpretation and compliance questions; partners with Sales to create designs and BOMs for quotations.
• Reviews product standards and customer specifications to confirm Southwire’s capabilities or recommend alternate products.
• Gathers insights from R&D, Quality and Manufacturing to improve templates and configurable models for product families.
• Develops and implements quality control procedures and documentation to meet internal and industry standards; guides junior team members.
• Performs other duties as assigned; complies with all policies and standards.
