Job summary

Optimum Communications Inc. is seeking a construction coordinator to manage development, implementation, and documentation of new construction projects.

You will oversee pre-fielding, planning and scheduling, and direct the construction activities of subcontractor and in-house personnel to meet safety and quality standards. You will supervise first-line staff, mentor reports, and ensure deadlines are achieved while controlling budgets and inventories.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of all phases of cable system construction.
• Knowledge of CATV Plant Design.
• Minimum five years construction experience.
• Minimum two years' experience with MDU design and builds.
• Minimum three years' manager / supervisor experience preferred.
• Knowledge of applicable safety regulations.
• Effective communication, planning and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides for the timely construction of new cable related facilities by coordinating with departments, utilities, builders and local authorities.
• Directs construction activities of subcontractor and in-house crews to include MDU and plant projects.
• Administers job site quality inspections in line with codes and standards.
• Supervises staff, estimates workloads and sets priorities to meet deadlines.
• Mentors direct reports and conducts performance management.
• Allocates projects to subcontractors based on schedule and expertise.
• Adjusts designs and plans to solve problems using technical knowledge.
• Monitors progress, materials, overtime, and equipment usage.
• Maintains progress reports, inventories and vendor deliveries.
• Ensures a safe work environment and enforces safety rules and regulations.
• Represents the company with property owners and municipalities to resolve issues.
