Job summary

Staffmark currently hires for a Cable Manufacturing Technician in Avon, CT. This direct-hire role requires operating extrusion lines, inspecting cable products, and supporting engineering with new processes.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in manufacturing, basic math, and the ability to read technical drawings. 1st and 2nd shifts are available, with a pay rate of $23.00–$25.00 per hour plus an 8% 2nd shift differential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree/technical training preferred.
• 1–3 years manufacturing/production experience preferred.
• Ability to read work instructions, drawings and product specifications.
• Strong math skills including decimals, fractions, measurements, conversions.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor extrusion lines and cable manufacturing equipment.
• Adjust machine settings to meet production and quality standards.
• Review orders, drawings, specs, and production instructions.
• Inspect and test cable products for quality compliance.
• Perform re-spooling, winding, packaging, labeling, and related tasks.
• Enter production and quality data into company systems.

Education Requirements

Experience Requirements

• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift
• Ability to lift, carry, and handle production materials and equipment
• Ability to work around manufacturing machinery and moving equipment
• Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
• Ability to safely handle materials, chemicals, and production tools

Job Duties

• Set up, operate, and monitor extrusion lines and other cable manufacturing equipment
• Adjust machine settings to meet production and quality standards
• Review work orders, drawings, specifications, and production instructions
• Inspect and test cable products to ensure quality requirements are met
• Perform re-spooling, bobbin winding, packaging, labeling, and related production tasks
• Enter production and quality data into company systems
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to reduce downtime
• Partner with Engineering to support new products and process improvements
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow all safety procedures, ISO standards, and manufacturing guidelines
• Support additional production activities as needed
