Job summary

Atterro is hiring a Fiber Draw Manufacturing Technician for our Avon, CT facility. This direct-hire role offers opportunities to work on fiber optic production lines, set up and monitor fiber draw towers, and ensure product quality through established procedures.

You will join a team dedicated to safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement. The position calls for 1–3 years of manufacturing experience, high school diploma or GED, and the ability to read technical drawings.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read work instructions, drawings, and product specifications
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Strong math skills, including fractions, decimals, measurements, and basic calculations

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor fiber draw towers used in fiber optic manufacturing
  • Follow work orders, production recipes, engineering specifications, and quality standards
  • Review materials, drawings, and process requirements before production
  • Inspect production processes to ensure quality and performance requirements are met
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to reduce downtime and improve efficiency
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation
  • Support Engineering with process development and continuous improvement projects
  • Handle, label, and dispose of manufacturing materials according to established procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area using 6S practices
  • Follow all safety, ISO, and company operating procedures
  • Support additional manufacturing and production activities as needed

Location: Avon, CT
Pay Rate: $22.00 – $25.00 per hour

  • 2nd Shift Differential: Additional 8%
  • 3rd Shift Differential: Additional 12%

Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate degree or technical training preferred
  • Ability to read work instructions, drawings, and product specifications
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Strong math skills, including fractions, decimals, measurements, and basic calculations
Experience Requirements
  • 1-3 years of manufacturing, production, or industrial experience preferred
  • Mechanical, technical, or industrial background preferred
  • Experience with fiber optics, cable manufacturing, extrusion, or related processes is a plus
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement

What You Will Do

As a Fiber Draw Manufacturing Technician you will support daily manufacturing operations by assembling products, operating production equipment, inspecting finished goods, packaging materials, maintaining production standards, and following established work instructions. You will help keep production areas clean and organized, monitor product quality, meet production goals, and contribute to safe, efficient manufacturing operations.
