Job summary

Prysmian Group is seeking team‑oriented new operators to join our manufacturing floor in Massachusetts. You will learn by doing, logging production data, and assisting with basic inventory tasks as you grow into machine operation.

We provide structured training, support safety and quality standards, and opportunities to rotate through extrusion, cabling, and entry‑level processes. Prior experience helps but isn’t required; strong teamwork and reliability are valued.

Job description

Imagine stepping onto the production floor where energy and information start their journey. Your shift begins with a handoff from the outgoing crew, a quick safety review, and a look at the day’s run orders—then it’s time to build the cables that keep cities powered and data flowing.

What a day looks like

• Learn by doing: You’ll train side-by-side with our most experienced operators until you can confidently run equipment, log production data on our systems, and handle basic inventory tasks—all safely and up to our standards.
• Collaborate: Work in tight-knit teams, coordinate with your lead, and help the group hit production and quality goals.
• Stay adaptable: Depending on the schedule, you may rotate across key production areas that include:
• Extrusion: Apply thermoset rubber or thermoplastic materials over copper or cabled cores to produce finished cables or key components.
• Cabling: Load wires, fillers, tapes, and other materials into large machines that twist them into a single, engineered cable.
• Entry-level operations: Support vital processes such as taping, braiding, and order cutting—foundational steps that keep our lines moving.

Training and expectations

• Structured, hands‑on training continues until you meet our performance and safety benchmarks for machine operation, data logging, and inventory basics.
• Ability to lift 25–50 lbs and spend extended periods sitting or standing in areas that may be warm and loud.
• Prior experience helps, but it isn’t required—we’ll teach you.
• Basic English reading, writing, and speaking are required to communicate with teammates and leaders and to participate fully in team‑building activities.

Pay and schedules

Base pay: Dependent on department/machine; range: $20.88–$31.87 per hour.

• 2nd: 3:30PM – 11:30PM
• 3rd: 11:30PM – 7:30AM
• 12 hour 2-2-3 Schedule: 7:30AM – 7:30PM
• 12 hour 2-2-3 Schedule: 7:30PM – 7:30AM

Shift premiums: $1.50/hour for second shift; $2.25/hour for third shift.
