Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems is seeking a Cable Manufacturing Engineer for the Electronics Manufacturing Facility in Huntsville, AL. You will develop and optimize manufacturing processes for cable assemblies, lead work instructions, and support automation integration.

You will collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to ensure robust production, support NPI, and help meet delivery schedules while maintaining quality standards.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering with 4–8 years of experience (or MS with 2–6 years).
• Experience with design, manufacturing engineers, and technicians to develop build strategy.
• Knowledge of assembly tools and electrical schematics.
• Familiarity with MES systems and manufacturing documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and ensure manufacturing processes/work instructions are simple, clear, robust, and repeatable.
• Prepare process flows and assembly work instructions for technicians using an MES system (e.g., Solumina).
• Support change orders and deviations.
• Support NPI activities to develop procedures/work instructions for follow-on production.
• Collaborate with quality to validate customer quality requirements.
• Work with production control to meet delivery schedules.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of automation equipment and facility layout optimization.
