Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems in Huntsville, AL seeks a Cable Manufacturing Engineer to join the Electronics Manufacturing Facility. You will develop robust manufacturing processes, create work instructions and process flows, and support change orders, deviations, and NPI activities for follow-on production.

You will collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers, technicians, and the quality team to ensure products meet customer requirements and delivery schedules while supporting automation

Qualifications

• BS or MS in engineering with relevant manufacturing experience.
• Ability to work with design/manufacturing engineers and technicians to build a robust build strategy.
• Experience reading mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and manufacturing docs.
• Familiarity with MES tools and PLM software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and ensure manufacturing processes/work instructions are simple, clear, robust, error-proofed, and repeatable.
• Prepare process flows and assembly work instructions for assembly technicians using an MES system (i.e. Solumina).
• Support the implementation of change orders and deviations.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities in developing procedures/work instructions for follow-on production.
• Collaborate with quality to develop processes that validate customer quality requirements.
• Coordinate with production control to meet delivery schedules for the design team.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of automation equipment and optimize facility layouts.
