Job summary

PlanIT Group, LLC is seeking a 2nd shift Cable Inspector to ensure quality of cable products. You will inspect cables, identify non-conformances, and collaborate with engineers to resolve issues.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, effective communication, and teamwork on a contractor basis. Responsibilities include inspecting cables, using precision measuring devices, interpreting drawings, and reworking defective units as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with cable manufacturing and inspection.
• Experience with soldered and crimp inspection on cables using IPC-A-620 standards.
• Proficient at interpreting drawings, diagrams, parts lists, IPC manuals, and work instructions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work in a team with assemblers, engineers, and management.
• PC proficiency with newer applications.

Responsibilities

• Inspect cables using predetermined methods, operations, and specifications.
• Use various measuring devices, such as dial indicators, preset micrometers, and scales.
• Accept, reject, or rework defective or malfunctioning units or systems.
• Work from blueprints, diagrams, customer specifications, and inspection instructions.
• Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
• Communicate effectively with assemblers, engineers, and management to resolve quality issues.
• Perform assembly tasks related to assigned inspection areas as needed.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and interface with assemblers, test technicians, engineers, customers, and management
• Proficient with Personal Computers and newer applications
• No degree required
• Must be able to read and write English
• Must take and pass a medical screening exam as outlined in the supplier guide
