Job description

Who we are:

Prysmian is a global cabling solutions provider leading the energy transition and digital transformation.

We are a public company listed on the Italian Stock Exchange, with almost 150 years of experience, over 30,000 employees, 104 plants, and 27 R&D centers in over 50 countries.

Your contribution to Prysmian's Success:

We are looking for a Cable Design System Sustainability Specialist to join our R&D team at our HQ.

Reporting directly to the Cable Design/SAP Manager, you will support the new Cable Design program, an IT platform aimed to become the primary cable design tool within Prysmian, replacing the current, now obsolete Common Analisi System.

The role also involves managing sustainability topics, mainly related to implementing specific calculation rules and managing hazardous substances in cables.

More specifically, you will:

  1. Define the specifications for the new Cable Design system to be developed on the SAP BTP platform and support its implementation.
  2. Enable the development of smart solutions to make cable design activities more streamlined and efficient.
  3. Be responsible for deploying special development packages, particularly formula management and data migration packages.
  4. Support the execution and roll-out in plants, according to plans defined with IT and the Program Team.
  5. Assist in implementing the sustainability calculation package within the system.
  6. Contribute to developing services and tools provided by Group Cable Design for local design teams, including best practices, calculation tools, documents, and manuals.
  7. Maintain and enhance databases and tools for environmental impact analysis, focusing on Carbon Footprint (CFP) calculation and recyclability indexes, in collaboration with the Group Health and Safety team.
  8. Manage the use of SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern) in cable products by maintaining updated mappings of SVHC in raw materials and developing systems for tracking hazardous substances in finished cables.

You are the right fit if you have/are:

  • Fluent in English
  • An engineering degree
  • Up to 3 years of experience
  • Good knowledge of Office package and SAP (ERP)
  • Willing to travel 20%
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Decision-making attitude, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong teamwork skills, results-oriented, and ambitious mindset

What we offer you:

  • Permanent contract
  • Collaborative environment
  • Dynamic and respectful workplace

Our selection process:

1) Application, 2) HR interview, 3) Hiring manager interview, 4) Online assessment (30 min)
