Job summary

Herrman Lumber is seeking a Cabinet Design Coordinator to guide projects from concept through installation. You will create design development, order products, and communicate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure accurate drawings and timely delivery.

You’ll manage scheduling, on-site measurements, quotes, invoicing, and showroom support, leveraging 2020 Design and Cabinet Vision to deliver precise shop drawings and seamless fabrication coordination.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of experience using Microsoft Office and Outlook preferred.
• Previous design experience in lumber/building products is preferred.
• We will train the right person!

Responsibilities

• Meet with customers and vendor sales reps to review project requirements and specifications.
• Produce detailed design and shop drawings to support fabrication and installation.
• Manage projects from initiation through completion, including scheduling and progress tracking.
• Conduct on-site surveys to verify field measurements and conditions.
• Place and track product orders for timely delivery and accuracy.
• Prepare quotes and bids in response to inquiries and specifications.
• Oversee invoicing and ensure accurate billing per contract terms.
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
• Support showroom operations and general office administration tasks.

What will I do?

• Produce detailed design and shop drawings to support fabrication and installation processes.
• Manage projects from initiation through completion, including scheduling, coordination, and progress tracking.

• Prepare competitive quotes and bids in response to customer inquiries and project specifications.

Position requirements:

• A high school diploma or equivalent GED is required.
• Valid driver's license with eligibility for coverage under the company insurance policy required.
• One to three years of experience using computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Outlook, is preferred.
• Previous design experience and familiarity with the construction or lumber industry is preferred.
• We will train the right person!
• Strong knowledge of design principles, shop drawings, and fabrication/installation processes.
• Understanding of construction materials, methods, and terminology, particularly within the lumber or building products industry, is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and design-related software applications, including 2020 Design and Cabinet Vision, is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements, documentation, and order tracking.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with customers, vendors, and team members.
• Ability to read and interpret specifications, blueprints, and project documentation.
