Role Overview

Our District Support Pharmacists (DSPs) play a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence within each pharmacy by acting as role models, demonstrating genuine care, and setting the bar for the pharmacy team. As a DSP, you will support pharmacy operations across the district, covering scheduling gaps and assisting the Pharmacy Manager and Rx District Leader.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support patient health management through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizations.
2. Travel within the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled.
3. Oversee pharmacy operations and serve as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during shifts.
4. Ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment and follow pharmacy workflow procedures.
5. Assume Pharmacy Manager duties when serving as the primary pharmacist-on-duty.
6. Provide compassionate patient care, collaborate with healthcare teams, and resolve medication or insurance issues.
7. Offer and support immunizations and support pharmacy inventory management.
8. Maintain flexibility for scheduling and contribute to a positive team environment.
9. Stay current with clinical and technical skills, including industry trainings and CMEs.
10. Support clinical services like testing and prescribing where permitted.
11. Comply with all relevant laws, regulations, policies, and standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist License in the state of employment.
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.

Additional Requirements

• Ability to travel within a reasonable radius.
• Regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to complete required training on time.
• Strong concentration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting up to 20 lbs and standing for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

1-2 years of related experience in pharmacy, retail, or healthcare settings.
