Job summary

APEX TK is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the C3BM systems engineering efforts, focusing on C2BMC integration, future concepts, and multi-national exchange designs. The role involves space system data exploitation for missile tracking and cueing, with emphasis on demonstrated system engineering discipline and DoD operations.

Ideal candidates hold a Secret or higher clearance, 12+ years of missile defense-related experience, and a Master’s in a STEM field.

Qualifications

• Secret Clearance or higher required.
• 12+ years working on missile defense-related or other complex DoD program/project.
• Master’s Degree in STEM required.
• Proficiency in system engineering and execution processes.
• Experience with missile defense weapon systems, radars, C2BMC or BMDS OPIR Architecture (BOA).
• Capable of leading implementation of system engineering processes to facilitate integration and transition of emerging capabilities into operations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct system engineering support in planning and executing space system data exploitation for missile tracking, discrimination, and cueing.
• Cruise Missile Indications and Warning development; PWSA integration, ESL prototype evaluation, ESPN operational capabilities; coordinate reviews at SECRET and TS levels.
• Evaluate infrared data exploitation performance during real-world events and assist with assessing and integrating new infrared sensors into the MDA/DCC portfolio of capabilities.
• Prepare and present explanatory briefings for operators, developers, and executive leaders; assist program manager in acquisition actions to get contractors on contract; coordinate Government Furnished Equipment and information and assess contractor performance.

In this role you will be part of the Command, Control, Communications, and Battle Management (C3BM) systems engineering efforts to include engaging in Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) technical engineering and integration, future concepts, new functionality, and multi-national exchange designs.

Job Description/Responsibilities

• Responsible for conducting system engineering support in planning and executing space system data exploitation capabilities for missile tracking, discrimination, and cueing.
• Responsibilities include the following: Cruise Missile Indications and Warning development; Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA) integration, Enterprise Sensors Lab (ESL) prototype evaluation, and fielding Enterprise Sensors Processing Node (ESPN) operational capabilities. Coordinate and actively participate in technical reviews at SECRET and TS levels.
• Evaluate performance of Infrared data exploitation capabilities during real world events and assist with assessing and integrating new infrared sensors into the MDA/DCC portfolio of capabilities.
• Prepare and present explanatory briefings for operators, developers and executive leaders and assist program manager in all acquisition actions to get contractors on contract, coordinate to obtain all required Government Furnished Equipment and Information, and assess overall contractor performance.

• Must have some experience with or knowledge of missile defense weapon systems, radars, C2BMC or BMDS OPIR Architecture (BOA).
• Capable of leading implementation of system engineering processes to facilitate integration and transition of emerging capabilities into operations.

Preferred Skills (Desired but not Required)

• Self-starter with enthusiasm and capacity to learn in a fast-paced environment
• Current Top Secret/with SCI eligibility is preferred
• Ability to assess maturity of software code and overall Technology Readiness Levels
