Job Role and Responsibilities

We are looking for a Senior SQL Database Administrator with 10+ years of experience to manage, optimize, and support enterprise database platforms. This is a hands‑on individual contributor role, focused primarily on Azure SQL environments, with some exposure to AWS databases.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years in IT, with 8+ years as a SQL DBA
• Experience supporting enterprise, production‑scale databases

Technical Skills

• Strong experience with Azure SQL Database, SQL Managed Instance, SQL Server
• Working knowledge of AWS RDS (SQL Server/Aurora)
• HA/DR (Always On, Failover Groups), backup & recovery
• Performance tuning and capacity planning
• Database security and compliance

Nice to Have

• Azure or SQL Server certifications
• Experience in regulated or large enterprise environments

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure VMs
• Support AWS databases such as RDS (SQL Server/Aurora) in hybrid environments
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and restore strategies
• Monitor and tune database performance; optimize queries and indexing
• Implement database security, access controls, encryption, and auditing
• Execute database upgrades, patching, migrations, and capacity planning
• Automate routine DBA tasks using T‑SQL, PowerShell, or scripting tools
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root‑cause analysis
