The responsibilities include a range of administrative support services assisting in the operations of the specific office or department. These include preparing correspondence and reports, compiling data, researching information, making travel arrangements, responding to callers and visitors, assisting in coordinating special events and performing project management duties as assigned. Incumbents of these positions may also be required to update and maintain confidential records, create necessary forms and logs, generate work orders, order supplies, and reconcile purchase card statements. Administrative Operations Assistant is an unclassified confidential position.
Current openings are in the Office of Human Resources and the Information Technology Department. This recruitment will be used should any additional positions become available in the next six months.

The Information Technology department supports a campus community of almost 10,000 students and over 1,000 faculty and staff. The department supports everything from enterprise systems such as the student information system Banner, to computerized classrooms, to cloud resources for faculty research. Last year the department logged over 18,000 incidents, 7,000 requests for services, and upgraded over 300 computerized classrooms, while maintaining a service satisfaction rate of over 95%.
The qualified candidate will provide confidential administrative support and assist in the preparation, development, and production of a variety of materials, including direct mailings, reports, surveys, and both printed and electronic communications. The incumbent will organize, update, and maintain files and records to ensure efficient office operations and accurate information management. This position will also provide support for various campus events.
This position serves as the primary point of contact for the reception area, providing exceptional customer service to visitors and telephone callers from within the university community and external stakeholders. The individual will respond to inquiries professionally, courteously, and efficiently while supporting the daily operations of the office. The incumbent will perform related duties as assigned.
In Human Resources, in addition to providing reception coverage, this position will reset Core-CT passwords, process tuition waivers, complete verifications of employment, onboard and process student workers at the University, assist with the processing of adjunct faculty, and provide other general support to the Human Resources department. Tasks related to student workers will consist of hiring, including I-9 processing, maintaining records of all student workers, coordinate sick leave accruals, and coordinating FICA withholding, as appropriate.
In Information Technology and the Central Workforce and Innovation Hub, in addition to the above, the position will assist with campus tours and be expected to have a knowledge of university signature space operations, assist with the development and production of marketing and social media collateral, assist with special events, advisory boards, assist with campus training events, vendor outreach, coordination and event production and strategic initiatives.

The Administrative Operations Assistant is compensated at the Professional 1 salary level in accordance with CSCU Human Resources Policies for Management and Confidential Professional Personnel. The salary range for Professional 1 is $55,941 to $83,911. Salary will commensurate on education, experience, and funding.
