DESCRIPTION:
The Lead Cashier will work under the supervision of theC-Store Manager and Assistant Manager to create positive customer experiencefor all who enter the property. The Lead Cashier will perform a variety ofcashier functions within the assigned cashier area. This position is alsorequired to ensure the cleanliness and organization of the store both insideand outside. Will be responsible for supervision of the staff in the absence ofthe Manager or Assistant Manager. Will assist management with all operationalduties as needed. Will respond positively to questions and inquiries from thepublic.
Primary Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide excellent service to guests, internaland external, through active guest engagement and positive attitude.
- Shall be required toread, implement, and adhere to all NWCR Policies and Procedures, LVD GamingOrdinance, Tribal/State Gaming Compact, NIGC Minimum Internal ControlStandards, Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, LVD TribalInternal Control Standards, Title 31 Minimum Internal Control Standards, NWCRCasino Employee Handbook, Convenience Store Department Policy and ProcedureManual.
- Assist with trainingnew employees on the POS system and daily operational duties.
- Clear knowledge ofCasino/ C-Store policies and procedures.
- Operating the cash register and running creditcards transactions. Assist cashiers with these transactions as needed.
- Required to have some product knowledge toassist with inquiries or questions from the public.
- Responsible for accurate handling of moniesincluding ensuring accuracy of money in, money out of cash bank.
- Ensure all employees are verifying age ofcustomers if they purchase alcohol or cigarettes (Card all customers who lookunder the age of 40).
- Assist with creating employee schedules andfilling in voids when necessary.
- Alert Management and/or I.T. when technicalproblems arise that you are unable to solve without assistance.
- Corroborate with Management to ensure staff arecompleting required documentation/forms in a timely manner.
- Assist with vendors, create orders and inventorymerchandise.
- Sweep and mop floor as needed.
- Clean gas station bathrooms as needed.
- Stock products to shelves and coolers, checkexpiration dates, ensure only fresh/intact products are sold.
- To remain in compliance with Casino Regulatorypolicies and procedures, employees are required to attend all necessarymeetings and training facilitated by Management.
- Due to changes and modifications in jobs fromtime to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume otherresponsibilities assigned by management.
Skills & Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- At least 3 years of prior cashiering experiencein a retail setting.
- Strong mathematical aptitude is required.
- Friendly and courteous disposition required.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Exceptional time management/punctuality.
- Previous experience with providing customerservice.
- Subject to a variety of environmentalconditions.
- Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, kneel andstand for an extended amount of time.
- Occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.
- Must be able to work all shifts assigned,including weekends and holidays.
- Must pass background checks and otherpre-employment screenings necessary to receive and maintain a Gaming License.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous money handling experience ispreferable.
- Casino related experience is desired.
