Job summary

Pyramid Consulting, Inc. is seeking a C-Project Engineer for a 24+ month onsite role in Gonzales, LA. You will lead client projects, oversee engineering, design and construction resources, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities include developing SAP-based estimates and schedules, coordinating procurement, and supervising field activities while keeping projects on budget and schedule. Travel up to 15-25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in chemical, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
• TWIC, security passport, and refinery background checks required.
• Willing to travel 15–25% depending on project.
• Ability to lead projects with strong safety focus.
• Experience in manufacturing plant operations and client projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned client projects and manage engineering, design, and construction resources.
• Develop estimates, funding documents, schedules, and forecasts for plant projects in SAP.
• Ensure process hazard reviews and ORIs are completed and safety goals met.
• Provide field supervision and support during project execution.
• Maintain projects on budget and schedule while meeting customer operability needs.
• Lead safety meetings and ensure compliance with AP safety standards.

Immediate need for a talented C-Project Engineer. This is a 24+ Months Contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Gonzales, LA (Onsite).

Key Responsibilities:

• The Project Resource and Outage Support (PROS) Group is a diverse group that supports Industrial Gases (IG) North America Client projects, strategic planning, turnaround planning, and turnaround execution.
• This allows our team to provide specialized services and additional capacity for infrequent events to operational assets. 2 Year project
• Lead assigned Client projects (standalone projects and projects within plant outages) and manage all engineering, design, and construction resources
• Develop estimates, funding documents, schedule, and ongoing forecasts for plant executed projects within SAP
• Ensure all projects receive adequate process hazard reviews and ORI’s and that all recommendations are completed in a timely manner
• Ensure inherent process safety is adhered to on all project designs
• Provide field supervision / support during projects execution

• Conduct Safety Kickoff Meeting with contractors and operations team prior to start of project execution
• Confirm contractor is aware of and follows all AP Safety Standards
• Clearly communicate safety goals - 0 Recordables, 0 First Aids
• Complete short-term contractor BSP forms daily during execution of project
• Complete JSA reviews and fill out JSA Review form daily during execution of project
• Participate in the Safe Work Permit issuance process with the operations team
• Lead daily morning safety / toolbox meetings with all crafts
• Report all incidents immediately
• Ensure all contractors on site for project execution have submitted an Emergency Action Plan prior to mobilization
• Participate in Safety Sampling and Critical Safety Audits during outages
• Attend and contribute to monthly Safety Meetings

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Must have skills: Engineering, Project engineering, SAP, construction, procurement, safety
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Strong leadership abilities
• Manufacturing plant operations, maintenance, and Client projects experience
• Role model within Project Engineering function:
• High ethical standards - unwilling to compromise on worker safety and regulatory compliance requirements
• Organizational credibility - able to influence business area, engineering and manufacturing managers in decision making process
• 0-20 years' experience in maintenance and/or engineering disciplines
• Technical degree (chemical engineering, mechanical or electrical engineering REQUIRED
• Obtain TWIC, Security passport and pass refinery background checks-TWIC card has to be current and valid for completion of project.
• Willing to work a wide variety of scheduled days and hours, following strict fatigue management guidelines. Travel may be required as much as 15-25% depending on project.
• Ability to work without close supervision.
