Job summary

We are seeking an experienced C&I Relationship Manager to develop, manage, and grow commercial banking relationships with privately held and middle-market businesses. This is a producing relationship-management role focused on new business development, commercial lending, deposit growth, and long-term client relationships.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of commercial banking or C&I relationship management experience.
  • Proven experience originating and developing C&I relationships.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, and debt service.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of treasury management and commercial lending products.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow new C&I and commercial banking relationships through proactive business development and market outreach.
  • Identify and pursue prospective clients through networking, referrals, Centers of Influence, community involvement, and existing professional relationships.
  • Manage and deepen relationships with privately held and middle-market businesses.
  • Generate new commercial loan and deposit opportunities while expanding the bank's overall share of wallet.
  • Originate and structure C&I credit facilities, including working capital lines of credit, term loans, equipment financing, owner-occupied commercial real estate, and other commercial lending solutions.
  • Analyze borrower financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, debt service capacity, collateral, credit history, and overall financial condition.
  • Prepare and present credit recommendations and loan proposals in accordance with bank policies and established credit standards.
  • Partner with Credit and Underwriting teams to structure transactions, address credit issues, and move opportunities efficiently through the approval process.
  • Present transactions to Loan or Credit Committee as required.
  • Develop and maintain a high-quality commercial loan portfolio while actively monitoring client performance and credit risk.
  • Conduct annual reviews, portfolio reviews, and ongoing financial analysis of commercial relationships.
  • Identify opportunities to increase core deposits, treasury management, cash management, and other banking services within existing and prospective relationships.
  • Work closely with Treasury Management partners to identify and implement solutions that increase operating deposits and strengthen client relationships.
  • Maintain accurate pipelines, call reports, financial information, and relationship documentation.
  • Monitor loan covenants, financial performance, collateral, and other portfolio requirements.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of commercial banking products, credit policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management practices.
  • Build and maintain a strong network of local business owners, professionals, attorneys, CPAs, commercial real estate professionals, and other Centers of Influence.
  • Represent the bank within the local business community through networking, associations, chambers, and community events.
  • Ensure all lending and relationship-management activities comply with applicable banking regulations, BSA/AML requirements, and internal policies.

  • Experience managing commercial relationships with business owners and senior executives.
  • Proven ability to generate both commercial loan and deposit growth.
  • Strong understanding of Treasury Management and the ability to identify opportunities to expand client relationships.
  • Experience presenting transactions to Credit or Loan Committee.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial banking products, credit policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Established network and knowledge of the local business market strongly preferred.
  • Community bank, regional bank, or other relationship-driven commercial banking experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently in a production-oriented environment.
