Job summary

Walser Collision & Glass, part of the Walser Automotive Group, seeks team members for autobody, dent and glass repair. You will perform washing, masking, sanding, and prep work with emphasis on quality and safety. This role supports restoration of vehicles to pre-accident condition and upholds Walser’s values.

Qualifications

• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and drive if required.

Responsibilities

• Wash vehicles to remove dirt, oil, grease, and debris from painted surfaces.
• Locate and remove imperfections on panels prior to painting.
• Mask surfaces to protect unpainted areas during painting.
• Sand surfaces to prepare for refinishing.
• After painting, clean vehicle and move to buffing area.
• Follow OSHA safety guidelines and hazardous waste disposal rules.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.

Compensation:$16.00-$22.00/hr

What You’ll Do:

• Wash vehicles to remove dirt, oil, grease, and debris from painted surfaces
• Locate and remove imperfections on panels prior to painting. Treat scratched and chipped areas with plastic or liquid filler
• Apply paper and masking tape to protect unpainted surfaces, such as bumpers, windows, chrome trim, and other parts while surrounding areas are spray-painted
• Smooth unmasked surfaces with sandpaper removing gloss from previous coats of paint. Sand rough spots
• After vehicle is painted, remove masking tape and clean vehicle. Move vehicle to designated area for buffing
• Consistently utilizes all required safety equipment and follows proper refinishing procedures in compliance with OSHA guidelines
• Adheres to all requirements for hazardous waste disposal
• Maintains a clean and organized work space
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by manager or supervisor
• All other duties, tasks and/or projects as assigned

What You Bring:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have prior body shop and/or jamming experience
• Must work well as a member of a team
• Must be punctual and reliable
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
