Job summary

University of Texas at Austin on the Pickle Research Campus seeks a C++/Cloud Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain high-performance software for cloud deployments, supporting science and engineering applications.

You will work across cloud, CI/CD, and software architecture, writing robust C++ code, building pipelines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, CS or related field.
• Experience in C++ software development and modern C++ standards.
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms and software architecture.
• Experience with version control (Git) and build systems (CMake/Make).
• Ability to obtain DoD 8140 security certification within six months.

Responsibilities

• Implement high-quality C++ code with tests and reviews.
• Design cloud architecture solutions across environments.
• Build CI/CD pipelines and IaC for reproducible environments.
• Design software for cloud-native deployments with scalable architectures.
• Monitor performance, costs, and reliability; optimize resources.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and document processes.
