Jobtailor in Philadelphia seeks a detail-oriented Buying Support Associate to assist daily operations in designated buying areas and help manage overall merchandise flow. Responsibilities

• Support daily operational functions within designated buying areas
• Support the buying team in managing overall merchandise flow
• Develop cross-functional relationships with market and internal partners, including distribution center, design, and production
• Develop a holistic understanding of the product lifecycle and buying function
• Open packages and distribute samples to the appropriate Buyer
• Organize sample areas, desks, and shelves
• Manage and set up samples for style-outs and other meetings
• Call in missing samples for style-outs and meetings
• Request appropriate sample quantities for web turnover, press previews, and meetings
• Check and deliver mail twice daily
• Open and distribute mail to the appropriate Assistant Buyer
• Drop inter-office mail at the mailroom
• Answer emails promptly and orderly
• Take digital photos of all items and style-outs
• Manage and maintain picture packs
• Print department classes on combined web velocity for the Buyer and Associate Buyer
• Pass samples to the Product Coordination team weekly with completed tags and product information sheets
• Contact vendors with feedback after opening unsolicited samples
• Answer vendor inquiries, especially shipping-related inquiries
• Set up new vendors as needed
