What we need

Symbotic is seeking a highly motivated individual for a Buyer role within our Supply Chain organization. The ideal candidate will have a "think outside the box" mentality, a passion for teamwork, analytical experience, and strong collaboration and organizational skills suitable for a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Candidates should have demonstrated knowledge of sourcing best practices and a history of supply base optimization, particularly in automation, warehouse distribution, or service parts organizations.

What we do

Our global Sourcing, Procurement, and third-party Supplier team develops innovative category management strategies in collaboration with the business. The team focuses on strategic third-party partner agreements and supports supplier relationship management, including commercial and financial pricing models to enhance supplier performance.

What you’ll do

1. Manage all warranty and return claims from customer sites, issue return POs, track notifications, and ensure timely resolution.
2. Negotiate warranty terms and repair contracts with suppliers of automation equipment to secure favorable conditions.
3. Lead supplier recovery efforts by securing credits, replacements, or no-cost repairs from suppliers and hold them accountable for failures.
4. Identify and onboard repair partners specializing in automation components to increase capacity and reduce turnaround time.
5. Partner with Service, Quality, Engineering, and Planning teams to resolve issues, support root cause analysis, and prevent recurrence.
6. Streamline warranty and repair workflows by implementing tools and best practices to improve turnaround, visibility, and supplier performance.
7. Maintain accurate purchase item data and planning parameters for MPS/MRP processes.
8. Optimize total cost of ownership and on-time delivery through planning and control of automation-related activities.

What you’ll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Procurement.
• Experience with commodities such as Conveyors, Lifts, Robotics, Automation Controls, Material Handling Systems, and knowledge of the related supply base.
• At least 3 years of detailed experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are preferred.

Our Environment

• Up to 10% travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
• The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally for reimbursement on a bi-weekly basis.
