iRiS Recruiting Solutions is partnering with a large Tennessee-based company to recruit a Produce Buyer for onsite duties Monday–Friday. The role focuses on fresh produce categories, inventory control, supplier relationships, and timely distribution to meet growing demand.

The candidate will leverage Power BI for insights, manage pricing and seasonal cycles, and collaborate with sales, warehouse, and logistics teams to optimize product availability and customer satisfaction.

We're partnering with a large company in Tennessee seeking a Produce Buyer to join its Fresh Sales team!

About the Opportunity

• Location: Tennessee | Onsite, Monday–Friday
• Produce Volume: Approximately $1.5M in weekly produce sales
• Growth: Expanding operations to support increasing customer demand
• Technology: Power BI and inventory management systems

What You’ll Be Doing

• Purchase and manage fresh produce categories, including tomatoes, East Coast vegetables, watermelons, and seasonal commodities.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels, product freshness, quality, and availability.
• Manage supplier relationships, pricing, purchasing schedules, and product availability.
• Navigate seasonal growing cycles, market fluctuations, and supply chain challenges.
• Collaborate with sales, warehouse operations, and third-party logistics partners to ensure timely product distribution.
• Support existing customer relationships while identifying opportunities to increase produce sales.

What We’re Looking For

• 3–4+ years of produce buying experience required
• Strong understanding of produce commodities, growing regions, seasonality, and market pricing
• Experience managing inventory, purchasing forecasts, and product quality
• Ability to coordinate transportation, delivery schedules, and product availability
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and vendor relationship management skills
