Job summary

IRISS, Inc. in Bradenton, FL, is seeking a Buyer and Planner to join the Supply Chain team. The role converts customer delivery requirements into production schedules, material requirements, and supplier plans, maintaining the master production schedule and executing purchasing activities.

Working with various stakeholders, you will translate priorities into work orders and PO actions, monitor performance, and escalate risks to protect delivery dates and control inventory.

Qualifications

• Degree or technical qualification in supply chain, operations, business, or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Typically 3–5 years in manufacturing production planning, purchasing, or materials control; experience maintaining production schedules and following up with suppliers.
• Working knowledge of MRP, master production scheduling, bills of material, routings, lead times, inventory control, and purchase order administration.
• Strong ERP and Excel skills, analytical judgment, organization, and follow-through; Rootstock or NetSuite experience and APICS training or certification are preferred.
• Clear communication with shop-floor teams and suppliers; ability to manage competing priorities, resolve exceptions, and escalate risks promptly.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the master production schedule for all production processes, aligning work center and product family requirements with customer delivery dates and priorities.
• Translate the master schedule into daily/weekly work center schedules and work orders across multiple operations.
• Confirm material readiness, routing and revision requirements, and available capacity before releasing orders or proposing completion dates.
• Maintain a prioritized plan for open and past-due orders; manage schedule changes within time fences and communicate impacts.
• Track work order progress, aging, work in process, and completion dates; coordinate with Production and Warehouse.
• Review MRP output and translate demand into time-phased purchase requirements; maintain purchase Orders with suppliers.
• Provide suppliers with delivery schedules and demand visibility; secure acknowledgments and confirmed shipment dates.
• Expedite shortages and late orders; coordinate outside-processing purchases with production needs.
• Monitor daily output against the production schedule; identify missed quantities and risks to customer orders.
• Coordinate with Team Leads and Planning on material shortages, capacity constraints, and recovery actions.
• Update schedule and order status from shop-floor data; publish plan-versus-actual results and unresolved risks.
