Buyer/Planner 46407
7am-5pm weekdays, direct hire

The Buyer/Planner is responsible for planning production builds based on customer orders or build-to-stock scenarios. They will follow up with suppliers regarding late purchase orders and may place new orders to ensure material availability for production.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

1. Analyze sales trends, inventory levels, and production schedules to create purchase and work orders.
2. Support the timely and accurate delivery of products or services to customers.
3. Utilize the company ERP system for inventory management and schedule optimization.
4. Enter BOM and Router information.
5. Support Production, Engineering, Quality, and Material Teams.
6. Manage inventory pipelines from NPI to manufacturing.
7. Purchase raw materials, components, and services to meet production and customer requirements.
8. Maintain inventory levels within budget.
9. Maintain relationships with vendors.
10. Review ROPs or Kanban quantities and adjust based on business needs.
11. Implement and support a KANBAN/PULL system for parts replenishment, including automatic back flushing of mandatory parts.
12. Plan and coordinate material requirements using MRP and KANBAN systems.
13. Expedite urgent purchase requisitions when necessary.
14. Identify critical long-lead items, contribute to BOM construction, and support project cost management.
15. Support ISO processes to maintain system integrity.

Requirements

• 5+ years in a Lean Manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years of buying/planning experience.
• Knowledge and experience with Kanban implementation.
• Training in Lean Manufacturing and Transformation.
• Working knowledge of MRP systems.
• Experience with Vertical Integration.
• Injection molding experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in relevant computer software applications.
