Provides guidance and leadership to other planners and assists the Materials Manager as needed. **Major Tasks and Responsibilities:*** Strong knowledge of MRP / ERP systems including AS/400 and Microsoft D365* Reviews MRP reports and manages departmental work orders to meet master production schedule.* Ensures that raw material components are ordered and delivered in a timely manner.* Analyzes plant and work center capacities for current and future production schedules to determine labor/material requirements and availability to meet demands.* Interfaces with Customer Service, Sales and Marketing and Plant supervision to ensure that plan efficiency and schedule adherence are maintained.* Reviews and approves Engineering Changes or new product implementation for feasibility, inventory and capacity impact. Releases material against purchase orders to support production plan and work orders.* Maintains item master planning data for MRP or MPS parts. Monitors inventory levels for responsible commodities or product lines.* Interfaces with Manufacturing Production, Quality, Engineering, Accounting and other departments as required to support the production plan.* Expedites operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
