Job summary

WITTENSTEIN North America in Bartlett, IL is seeking a Buyer/Planner to schedule and procure material to ensure on-time operation of the assigned BU. You will generate POs, monitor deliveries, and collaborate with Logistics, Manufacturing, and Customer Service.

The role requires an associate degree in International Trade or related field (or equivalent), ERP experience (SAP or BaaN), and 2–5 years in a global manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience in International Trade or Supply Chain.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP or BaaN) is required.
  • 2-5 years of experience with a global manufacturing company as a buyer or planner.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand production/scheduling needs.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident was required.

The primary task of the Buyer/Planner is to schedule and procure material to ensure the on-time operation of the assigned business unit. The work is done within established procedures and guidelines.

Qualifications
  • General knowledge of Foreign Trade Law, International Traffics in Arms Regulations, Tariff Codes, etc…(19 CFR, 15 CFR)
  • Effectively utilizes Microsoft products like Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Reads and understands blueprints
  • Understands production and scheduling needs to better set re-order point, safety stock or just-in-time criteria
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident required
  • Associates degree in International Trade, Supply Chain or a related field; or equivalent working experience is required
  • Experience with an ERP system (BaaN, SAP) is required
  • 2-5 years of experience working with a global manufacturing company as a buyer or planner
  • Develop effective work relationships

  • Interpersonal Relationships: Works closely with Logistics, Manufacturing, WA&S and Customer Service. Role has direct contact with suppliers.
