Job summary

Ace Precision Machining Llc is seeking a Buyer to ensure materials, equipment, and services are available to keep production moving. You will work with experienced Buyers and learn our purchasing processes while managing assigned responsibilities.

You will research suppliers, obtain pricing, place orders, and track deliveries, collaborating with Production, Quality, and Engineering to resolve issues and improve cost, delivery, and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and purchasing experience.
• APICS or CPM certification is preferred.
• Experience with an ERP system; Epicor experience is a plus.
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Windows and Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and follow through on commitments.
• Willingness to learn, collaborate, and continuously improve purchasing processes.

Responsibilities

• Support the purchasing process from start to finish, including researching suppliers, obtaining pricing, placing orders, and tracking deliveries.
• Work with experienced Buyers to manage material requirements and ensure purchase orders are completed accurately and on time.
• Prepare and maintain purchase orders and other supplier agreements while keeping records accurate in the Epicor ERP system.
• Research pricing, lead times, and supplier capabilities to identify opportunities for improved cost, delivery, and quality.
• Assist with supplier bids and proposals, following established purchasing policies and procedures.
• Help maintain the approved supplier list by coordinating required forms and documentation.
• Build and maintain positive supplier relationships, communicating regularly to address questions, delivery concerns, and product requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance using quarterly supplier scorecards and help identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support quality and compliance efforts, including participation in internal and external quality audits when needed.
• Partner with Production, Quality, Engineering, and other departments to resolve purchasing and supplier issues.
• Stay organized and plan ahead to maintain production schedules and avoid material shortages.
• Learn and follow Ace Precision’s Quality System Work Instructions and purchasing procedures.
