Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Buyer for Life Sciences North America to procure standard to complex equipment and materials, potentially leading small projects (TCI $50M or less) with minimal guidance. You will report to the Manager of Procurement Services and the assigned Project Procurement Manager, ensuring timely delivery and cost optimization.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of capital equipment purchasing experience, with 2+ years in Biopharmaceutical/Life Science

Responsibilities

As a Buyer for Life Sciences North America, you will be responsible for purchasing standard to complex equipment and materials. The Buyer may act as lead on small projects (Projects with a Total Installed Cost of $50M, or less) while using best practices and knowledge of requirements to solve basic problems and handle day‑to‑day purchasing tasks with minimal guidance and direction.

The Buyer reports directly to the Manager of Procurement Services (MOPS) for the office which they are assigned, and will report indirectly to the assigned Project Procurement Manager (PPM) or Project Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a business, construction, supply chain, or operations management, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
• 4+ years of experience in capital equipment purchasing.
• 2+ years of experience in Biopharmaceutical/Life Science Manufacturing Projects is preferred.
• Travel – Anticipated travel 10‑20% of the time.

Please note this position is Hybrid and will require in the office or onsite at least 2‑3 days a week in either Conshohocken, PA or in Cary, North Carolina.

Salary

Base salary range: $80,900.00 to $135,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
