Job summary

Micross Inc. is seeking a Buyer/Planner in San Jose, CA to manage inventory and supply chain activities ensuring timely availability of materials for production.

You will collaborate with Production, Planning, Procurement, Stockroom, Engineering and Logistics to optimize materials flow and meet schedules. The role involves developing and maintaining the Materials Requirements Plan (MRP), identifying alternates, processing purchase requisitions, and monitoring safety stock and cashflow.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related discipline.
  • Experience planning end-to-end supply chain and management/implementation of ECO’s for sustaining and NPI Aerospace products.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to address potential issues before they escalate.
  • Experience as a Buyer, Material Planner, Inventory Controller, or a similar role in supply chain management for 5 plus years.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the development and maintenance of the Materials Requirements Plan (MRP) to ensure that customer requirements are met.
  • Identify potential alternates and submit re-identification forms to Quality Control & Component Engineer for processing.
  • Determine the required materials for Buy Parts and submit purchase requisitions to Purchasing.
  • Determine the required materials for Make parts, create work orders and submit purchase requisition for a service PO to Purchasing.
  • Periodically review safety stock levels and recommend adjustments; monitor Order to Forecast (OTF) PO’s and adjust expedite priority listing to properly manage cashflow.
  • Assist in the review of Expired, Slow Moving, and Excess/Obsolete material.
  • Manage inventory issues, schedule changes, and cancellations. Communicate reschedule requirements to Corporate Purchasing team.
  • Identify potential risks in the supply chain, such as shortages or delivery delays, and develop contingency plans to mitigate these risks.
  • Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain knowledge of new developments, requirements, and policies.
  • Perform or assist with material/inventory planning operations to maintain workflow and meet schedules and quality requirements.

Summary:

As a Buyer/Planner, you will play a crucial role in managing the inventory and supply chain operations of the company. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the right materials are available at the right time to meet production demands and optimize inventory levels.
