Qualifications

  • 3–7 years of Buyer experience.
  • At least 3 years of ERP experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of three years purchasing/supply chain experience.
  • Able to understand/read engineering drawings.
  • FAR/DFARS compliance experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience with SAP or similar procurement systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, prepare and process purchases in the ERP system.
  • Research and qualify new vendors, onboard, evaluate bids and build relationships.
  • Lead negotiation on Purchase Orders and payment terms.
  • Review redlines and NDAs with suppliers as required.
  • Maintain liaison with suppliers and internal teams to prevent delays.
  • Manage procurement lifecycle for assigned commodities and lead times.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Planning and Accounting to meet needs.

Position Purpose:

TheBuyerIIwill have existing procurement experience in the Aerospace & Defense (A&D) industry in a manufacturing or Research & Development (R&D) environment. The Buyer IIrolewill haveworkingknowledgeofFAR,DFARand/orNASAprocurementregulations,priceanalysisandtarget pricing techniques, as well as prior experienceprocuringCustom Fab-to-Print commodities.

  • Monitor, prepare and process purchases based on assigned commodities in ERP system.

  • Assistin researching and qualifyingnew vendors,on-board new vendors,evaluate bids, and build andmaintainpositive relationships with supplierswhileachievingthebestprice,quality, andon time delivery
  • Lead negotiation effort on Purchase Orders and payment terms with vendors to align with company objectives
  • Review redlines, negotiate, and processNon-DisclosureAgreementsandTermsandConditionswithsuppliersasrequired
  • Independentlymaintainsliaison with suppliers and internal organizations to prevent program delays
  • Manage the procurement lifecycle for assigned commodities, including wire harnesses, cable assemblies, racks, and other associated hardware
  • Independently manage supplier RFQ’s, Purchase Orders, delivery schedules, and cost
  • Set andmaintainaccurateitem lead times in the system and hold suppliers accountable to their commitments and to meet performance expectations
  • Buy parts according to specifications ensuring compliancewithcompanyquality standards. Work with Suppliersand Supplier Quality Assuranceto resolve quality issues
  • Analyze supplier capacity, lead times, pricing, and manufacturing constraints to support Program schedule
  • Leadandattendprogramandsuppliermeetingsasrequired
  • Workcross functionally with other departments such as Engineering, Quality, Material Program Manager, Planning, and Accounting to meet business needs

Working Conditions:

This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.
