As a Buyer I, you will play a vital role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and equipment that power critical infrastructure projects. You’ll manage the full purchasing cycle—from order planning and logistics to vendor performance and issue resolution—supporting multiple project teams and supply chain initiatives across the enterprise. You will work closely with category managers, planners, and project teams to optimize spend, ensure availability, and improve supply chain performance.Key Responsibilities:
- Procure with Precision: Plan and execute purchase orders based on field requisitions, project schedules, BOMs, and inventory needs.
- Ensure On-Time Delivery: Monitor order status, resolve delivery issues, and proactively communicate impacts to planners and project managers.
- Vendor Relationship Management: Maintain daily communication with suppliers to ensure timely fulfillment, accurate transport coordination, and compliance with site-specific requirements.
- Inventory Intelligence: Analyze and update system data to reflect accurate cost, lead times, safety stock, and reorder parameters.
- Problem Solver: Identify supply risks and recommend alternatives in supplier, sourcing, or transportation to ensure continuous material flow.
- Lead Tactical Sourcing: Conduct RFx activities for non-strategic items, negotiating cost and terms to meet project goals.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Manage data accuracy and use sourcing tools to enhance quality, value, and service across assigned categories.
- Project Support: Maintain project tracking pages and coordinate supplier delivery updates for project teams.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interface with operations, project teams, and supply chain partners to anticipate needs and resolve procurement challenges.
Qualifications:- Associate degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field required; equivalent experience considered.
- Minimum of 1 year of purchasing, planning, or relevant supply chain experience.
- APICS or other relevant certifications preferred.
Skills and Competencies:- Strong negotiation, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Clear and confident communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
- Sound judgment with a high degree of professionalism and discretion.
- Familiarity with supplier contracts, sourcing strategies, and inventory planning tools.
