Job summary

Wasatch Labs in Draper, Utah is seeking a purchasing professional to assist in sourcing materials, obtaining quotes, and placing orders to support manufacturing operations.

JOBSUMMARY

Job Summary: Assists in purchasing materials, supplies, and services for the organization. They evaluate bids, negotiate prices, and track purchases.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform basic purchasing tasks such as sourcing suppliers, obtaining quotes, and placing orders.
  • The purchase of non-inventory items based on each department’s purchase requisitions (PR).
  • Reviewing MRP, issuing purchase orders, and making any necessary revisions. Following up on confirmations and delivery dates.
  • Handle routine procurement activities under close supervision.
  • Maintain records of purchases, track deliveries, and manage inventory levels.
  • Assist in resolving minor supplier issues and discrepancies.
  • Work with warehouse on receiving issues and returns to suppliers.
  • Coordinate closely with the scheduling/Planning team to communicate ETA's and delays.
  • Analyze Forecast in ERP System.
  • Onboard new suppliers.
  • Ability to communicate and work well with all levels of internal management and staff, outside suppliers, and clients
  • Responsible for meeting procurement goals.
  • Complete any special assignments or projects given by the manager.
  • Works under close supervision and direction from manager.
  • Limited authority to make independent purchasing decisions.
QUALIFICATIONS

1-2 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, in a manufacturing environment.
